Our Night Sky & Navigation Workshops invite the community to slow down, look up, and rediscover the ancient relationship between people, water, and the cosmos. Held on the second Saturday evening of each month, these gatherings blend science, culture, and mindfulness in a peaceful natural park reserve.

Upcoming Events
Through exploring the night sky, ASCENDtials will help others understand principles and cycles through activities that everyone of all ages can enjoy. This program is called “Night Sky Education.”
Its purpose is to teach others how to gain the benefits of following cycles, be comfortable with the night, and the connection to melanin, in the endless analogies about blackness, and ultimately embrace ourselves and our ancestors, the stars and moon, as trusted guides on this journey.
Night Sky Star Party February 14, 5 PM – 8 PM
Join us this February for an unforgettable evening under the stars. We will be accompanied by the resident Park Ranger and our storyteller guides who share insight to bring you closer to our ancestors in the skies.
After our hike, see specific constellations that map the sky, kick back on your blanket, and share in our themed discussion. Go home with more knowledge and a deeper connection. As above, so below.
Volunteers, Storytellers & Astronomers With Kemetic Insight
Our Night Sky Star Parties are guided and enriched by a dedicated community of volunteers, cultural storytellers, and astronomers who bring both scientific understanding and ancestral wisdom to each gathering.
We honor the deep legacy of Kemetic sky knowledge, one of the earliest recorded systems of astronomy, which recognized the stars as guides for agriculture, navigation, ceremony, and the rhythms of life.
Our volunteers help create a welcoming, safe, and engaging environment for families and learners of all ages.
Our storytellers share cultural narratives that connect the cosmos to identity, memory, and community. And our astronomers — including those who study and interpret the sky through a Kemetic lens — help us explore celestial patterns with both scientific clarity and historical depth.
Together, they help us reconnect with the night sky as our ancestors once did, while honoring these cycles and rhythms: with curiosity, reverence, and a sense of shared belonging.

We’re building a community of volunteers, storytellers, cultural guides, and astronomy enthusiasts who want to help bring our Night Sky Star Parties to life. If you’re passionate about youth empowerment, cultural learning, science education, or simply creating meaningful experiences for families, we’d love to have you join us.
These sessions and workshops are growing, and with your support, we hope to expand them into a future overnight youth camp where young people can learn, explore, and connect with the night sky in a safe and inspiring environment.
Volunteers help with setup, youth engagement, cultural storytelling, guiding telescope stations, sharing Kemetic sky knowledge, and creating a welcoming atmosphere for all attendees. No experience is required — just a willingness to learn, support, and be part of something special.
