Volunteer Syllabus

Welcome to the Volunteer Program. This syllabus outlines the structure of your volunteer experience, key milestones, and how your work contributes to our teams and community impact.

1. Onboarding – Volunteers begin with an onboarding session where they are introduced to our mission and the team they will be supporting. During this stage you will review program expectations, tools, and communication platforms used by the organization.

2. Meet & Greet – You will meet with your Team Lead to discuss your interests, confirm your team placement, and review your role’s responsibilities. During this meeting, you will also learn about the Final Project, which focuses on identifying opportunities, improvements, or initiatives that support your team’s goals.

3. Two-Week Check-In & Presentation – After your first two weeks, you will meet with your Team Lead to review your progress and discuss your draft Final Project. You will present a short introduction to your project during a staff meeting and finalize your Volunteer Identified Goals.

4. Closing Interview & Evaluation – At the end of your volunteer period, you will participate in a closing interview with your Team Lead, Hiring Team, and Director. Volunteers also complete a final evaluation and may optionally submit a reflection paper about their experience.
